# Patient / Provider Solution for Physical Therapy

- **Companies:** Dyaco, Philips
- **Industry:** Health & Fitness
- **Dates:** Apr 2019 to Aug 2019

### Dyaco's market opportunity

In 2019, I was introduced to a Health & Fitness manufacturer named Dyaco.
Dyaco has long provided fitness equipment and over the past decade expanded
into high-quality medical-grade equipment for hospitals and outpatient
centers. Dyaco wanted to expand its place in the market by giving patients
and providers easy access to their data, helping them connect with each
other, and ensuring physical therapy sessions could be carried out correctly
at home even when the therapist was not available.

### Designing the end-to-end solution

I helped Dyaco design a fully realized end-to-end solution comprising:

1. A highly scalable serverless backend on a cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or
   Azure were all candidate solutions).
2. Centralized storage and management of sensitive patient data within
   Philips HSDP (HealthSuite Digital Platform).
3. Mobile applications connected to Philips HSDP enabling patients and
providers to access data and communicate.
4. Embedded software in the exercise equipment that communicated with the
backend and integrated with the mobile applications.
5. Remote management of exercise equipment by providers, with remote
   technical support from the manufacturer.

### Delivering the prototype

At the end of the engagement, a fully high-fidelity prototype was delivered
to Dyaco encompassing a data export app, a patient/provider app, an embedded
app for the exercise equipment, and an architecture diagram of the backend
solution.
